As part of our commitment to social and environmental responsibility, we are proud to be FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) certified. With this certification, we can make products from paper that has flowed through the FSC® “Chain-of-Custody” from an FSC-certified forest to an FSC® certified paper manufacturer, to an FSC® certified printer, such as Chicago Tag & Label.
Why are we FSC® Certified?
Being certified allows us to identify products that provide an assurance of social and environmental responsibility. FSC® Certification means that Chicago Tag & Label supports the highest social and environmental standards when producing our products. Certification also allows professionals and end users to know they are doing the right thing and taking business away from other companies that may still be supporting illegal, unsustainable, unverified logging activities. The FSC® system is working to shift the paper market to eliminate habitat destruction, water pollution, displacement of indigenous people, and violence against people and wildlife that often accompanies logging.
What does it take to become FSC® Certified?
Chicago Tag & Label must pass and implement specific certification procedures according to FSC® Code of Conduct. CTL is also audited and assessed by an FSC® accredited certifier yearly. The audit includes an inspection of our facilities, paperwork review, and employee interviews to ensure that we are complying with all FSC® Certification processes and that we can produce and track certified products throughout our inventory, production, and distribution processes.

Your purchase of FSC® certified paper products contributes to conservation, responsible management, and community-level benefits for people near the forests that provide your paper. By requesting FSC® certified paper, you will be able to use Chicago Tag & Label’s FSC® Certification Logo on your finished products. This will tell your final users that you are being environmentally responsible with the paper products that you use.
